Project 2050 is a comprehensive 25-year development plan aimed at transforming Eelam into a developed, prosperous, and stable nation. This ambitious initiative is comprised of a political and economic plan. The project focuses on a multi-phased approach with an estimated total development cost of $75 billion USD. The plan also accommodates varying budget scenarios of $5 billion, $20 billion, and $50 billion.
The key objectives of the initiative include obtaining justice for war crimes and genocide, gaining recognition for the nationhood and self-determination of Eelam, forming a Constitution and Charter of Rights, improving governance, revamping infrastructure and urban planning, rebuilding the economy, and promoting a cultural renaissance. The vision of Project 2050 is to propel Eelam to become a beacon of innovation, prosperity, academic excellence, entrepreneurship, and ethical governance.
The project will seek to lay the foundation for the first long-term development plan for the country, filling the gap that local political entities and the Transnational Government of Tamil Eelam have failed to address. This plan will seek funding from a variety of sources, including through international aid, grants, diaspora support, and investments from international financial institutions. By proposing a comprehensive plan, Eelam will gain the leverage needed to obtain the necessary funding to reconstruct the nation.
